Update OS:
Plug USB into computer.
Hold down “Eng” button while turning on
On next screen, press “Eng” to turn on USB access
open the drive on your computer
go to pfm2 dir
drop the .bin firmware onto the disk
(optional – copy any existing .bin file to your computer to avoid confusion)
eject the disk
Press “Op” on device to exit disk access
Press “Op” again to select the .bin file
Press “Op” to scroll through the .bin files on disk (if you have only one .bin on disk then this is not needed)
Press “Inst” to start the flash
You may need to reset the midi channels, encoder types, etc. in the settings menu
If the encoders seem to not scroll smoothly after updating firmware, change your encoder type from 12 to 24 or vice versa. There is also a setting for the buttons, although I’ve not experienced what that is like, but be aware that different builds apparently had different button or encoder types, so you may need to adjust these settings after a firmware reboot.
